Are Services at Chabad for me? Of course! Our Services are set up in a style that everyone regardless of background or affiliation, be it reform, conservative, orthodox or unaffiliated, can feel welcome and able to participate and enjoy the High Holiday Services. The environment is warm, friendly and non-judgmental. Do I need to become a member to join the Services? No! There is no requirement to become a member to join our services, neither do we charge for seats. While we obviously do appreciate contributions, we don't believe one has to pay to pray! What kind of Services do you offer? Services that are relevant, spiritual, informative, and thoroughly enjoyable. The services are conducted in both Hebrew and English and t he page numbers are continuously being announced throughout the services allowing everyone to know where we are holding. Our prayer books have both Hebrew and English, as well as transliteration, for all the parts of the services that are sung or read in unison. This allows everyone to pray in the language they feel most comfortable with, and to participate and feel at home. I have a fear of Services being long and boring? Will the Services at Chabad be the same? Absolutely not! Throughout the services the meaning and background of many of the prayers will be presented. Many famous Jewish melodies will be included into the prayers, making our services interactive, entertaining and educational. Do I need to bring a talit or prayer book? No! Prayer books, & a Talit will be provided to all our congregants. If you would like to bring your own Talit, you may feel free to do so. What kind of program will you provide for my children? There will be a special children's program. Rosh Hashana the program will be 10:30am - 11:45am. The children will join the adults for the blowing of the Shofar, and the taking out of the Torah. Yom Kippur the children's program will be 11:00am - 12:15am. Snacks will be provided during the children's program. The program will also allow the parents the ability to participate in the services without having to tend to the needs of their young children. Older children can choose to remain with their parents at the Services or join the Junior Congregation.
